Is too much running bad for you?

In this article I read from webmd.com it claims that too much running is actually bad for life expectancy.  It states that a number of studies have shown that a “moderate” running regimen is good for you and that is only 2-3 hours a week.  It claims that people who get no exercise or long-term runners seem to have a shorter life expectancy.  This article to me was interesting because all my life I’ve heard exercise exercise exercise and now they are saying too much might not be good either.  They claim it is the strain put on the body that shortens life expectancy.  This is another thing that needs to be looked at more carefully.
